I visited Ms. Mayano's gallery the other day. I learned how to choose colors, how to place them and so on while referring her amazing works. That was really fresh for me. I need lots of papers for calligraphy because I put ink onto the papers so I can't do it again. But all I need for cuttingpaper work is some layers with only one background paper, so I can do it again. Let's say, I can place character and picture layers on the background paper and try many times to see which one should be the leading role.
It was a perfect day to appreciate the paper culture again.
剪画アーティスト小野寺さんのSenga Art & Spaceへ。和紙の色の選び方、置き方などなどを小野寺さんの素敵な作品を参考に学んできました。書道とはまた違う新鮮さ。
剪画の楽しさは文字や絵のパーツがたくさんあること。主役をどれにしようかなぁ〜と並べながら迷うのも楽しい😊
あらためて紙文化のありがたみを感じた一日でした。
